Hydraulicly driven twin basket bar rake. I believe it is built by Vermeer and is called the r23. What are the pros and cons of this rake.
How many outlets and what kind of flow are needed for the hydraulics? I would guess three-raise/lower, width and basket drive.
What sort of horsepower is needed. Would use 4020 if hydraulics are up it thanks in advance Posted 3/5/2014 02:12 (#3733794 - in reply to #3733757) Subject: RE: john deere 705 rake questions southern saskatchewan Have vermeer 28 series rake, it takes 2 sets of hydraulic remotes to run it. Ran ours with a mxu 110 caseih and it pulls it fine and enough hydraulic flow. THE 23 series is limited to rake 2 16 ft swaths together I think. The 28 series will do 2 18's and the newer 28 series also can lift the rake baskets at the end of the field to get over the swath when turning around to start another but the down side is the cost.
Bought our rake used and its being great. Posted 3/5/2014 06:51 (#3733936 - in reply to #3733757) Subject: RE: john deere 705 rake questions Northeast Misery Using a 4010 on a 23a here. Handles it fine regarding hp and hydraulics. Now you might get them around 70 dollars.they are good rakes.have 2 R23's here.If you bale with a baler without wide pickup, these rakes are what makes you able to make tight end bales. Is it possible to add hydraulic folding of the the baskets to make transport easier?
Looking at jdparts.com I can't find any info on that thanks for your replies Posted 3/8/2014 19:26 (#3741986 - in reply to #3738567) Subject: RE: john deere 705 rake questions Chilliwack BC I don't think you could add hydraulic fold to those models. There is a cylinder that lifts the baskets after you manually fold them in. It runs off the same hydrauc circuit as the width of windrow. Rotary rakes started getting popular when the hydraulic fold came out so there isn't many around here with that option. Jump to page: Now viewing page 1 50 messages per page Jump to forum:.
